Deep C is a specialist in seabed intervention. They offer thoughtful and cost-effective solutions with their own products. With operational knowledge, meticulous engineering and a versatile portfolio of equipment, they are prepared to handle any challenge.
Northwest Solutions AS has had many exciting deliveries to DeepC. Here we have provided both engineering and fabrication and have had total deliveries of special equipment for use both subsea and topside. Some of our deliveries include:
One of the most complex projects of this customer is our contribution to their largest belt-moving underwater vehicle. Here we were closely integrated in engineering together with the customer himself. Northwest Solutions AS was responsible for the engineering, fabrication and quality control of the main structure and crane arm of this machine. The machine is designed for operations down to 2000 meters depth. An important characteristic is that the machine should have as low ground pressure on the belts as possible. Consequently, there was very much focus on keeping the weight as low as possible. As part of the weight optimization, we chose to use high-strength steel, type Strenx 690. Strenx 690 was used both in the main structure and in the crane arm. This made it possible to reduce dimensions and thicknesses to save weight. However, the design and fabrication of high-strength steel is considerably more demanding than that of ordinary structural steel.
